Every child’s journey in learning to read and write is unique.
Some kids love stories but struggle to make sense of the squiggles on the page that we call letters. Other kids decode words off the page with ease, but they aren’t sure what’s happening in the story.
If you are worried about your child’s reading and writing skills, you are not alone. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, 66% of fourth graders in 2022 were reading below grade-level proficiency, and 37% of those students lacked basic reading skills.
Thankfully, there are research-proven strategies for teaching students to read and reading specialists who can help!
I’m Anna, and I help students learn. My journey with the written word led me to an MFA in writing and a Ph.D. in literature, but what I love most is teaching kids to read and write!
For the past fifteen years, I have worked with students with language-based learning disabilities, implementing research-validated, multisensory literacy and math interventions tailored to each student’s unique learning profile.
I care deeply about my students and believe in every child’s potential.
